BUT MAKE IT FALL
Hello! How are you? Thank you for being here and checking this out. This is the first of many monthly top 10 favorite finds blog entries. This will be things I’m loving, using, wearing or found inspiring. I plan to share clothes, shoes, beauty, but also books, podcasts, home decor & other little goodies.
I have found some of my favorite products through a friend recommending them or through reading something like this so I thought it would be helpful for you and a fun post to look forward to.
Since fall officially started this week I figured I’d make this one an all fall theme to get into the spirit! Enjoy! PS. all items are linked where you see different color text.
1. Glass Light Up Pumpkins –
I could not love my led/fairy light pumpkins more. Pop batteries in, turn them on and they are glowing & gorgeous! They are even beautiful when not glowing. I got mine at TJ Maxx but can’t find the exact ones online. Here are some similar options though from Amazon. Gold mercury glass pumpkin, rustic twig pumpkin & rose gold mercury glass pumpkin. You could also add fairy lights around pumpkins you already have or glass ones for a similar look.
2. Truffle, Asiago & Garlic Mashed Potato Seasoning –
Need to impress anyone this holiday season? Offer to make the mashed potatoes and add this! You can thank me later. Seriously though, if you like truffles this is a must buy. I bought this seasoning last year and will definitely be buying it again. Honestly, I’ll probably buy a few. It is made specifically for mashed potatoes, but could be used on garlic bread, mixed with olive oil on roasted potatoes, on french fries or sprinkle a pinch on homemade pizza or popcorn.
3. Cozy Leopard Pajama Lounge Set –
So incredibly soft – I can’t wait until it’s cooler to wear this set. Long sleeve top with jogger style bottoms. Grey ribbed details at the cuffs of each which you can see. There is also the same detail in a stripe down the legs. I repeat very, very cozy. Under $40 for the set at Kohl’s. It’s their Vera Wang line.
4. Iridescent Glass Jar Harvest Pumpkin & Clove Candle –
I love candle jars that also look like pretty décor pieces. This orange iridescent glass jar almost looks like a pumpkin making it even more perfect for fall. It smells of pumpkin and spices making it perfect for the season. It is not as overpowering as a Bath & Body Works once lit too if you are sensitive to that. From the Opalhouse line at Target.
5. “Hey Pumpkin’’ Buffalo Check Doormat –
I’m usually not one to buy things with sayings, but I couldn’t pass on this doormat. It’s simple, sweet & is sure to bring a smile to anyone who comes to your door; yourself included! It’s 29in x 17in and only $15. It would be cute to put a larger cream or black mat underneath that has tassels/fringe on the shorter ends for some extra fun and color too.
6. Puff Sleeve Fall Floral Dress –
Pictures don’t do this dress justice. It is cute, comfortable and on trend with puff sleeves. Perfect for the in-between summer and fall weather. I love that you can wear the sleeves up or off the shoulder. The sleeves stay in place worn either way and are not to restricting when moving around. I got a small for a looser and a tad longer fit. From the Wild Fable line at Target.
7. Hobnail Black Pots –
This set of two pots is gorgeous and great quality. A modern twist on a vintage trend with the hobnail style. I have them in white for plants but this matte black gives off spooky fall vibes. It would be great as a vase with fall foliage or pampas grass. You could also put mini pumpkins or candy in them. They are 6.1″ and 4.8″ & have a hole drainage that comes with a rubber stopper if you were to use it as a plant pot. I have also used small pots on my dresser for scrunchies, chap sticks or pens so these could be very versatile.
8. Oversized Cozy Chenille Sweater –
I think I will live in this sweater this fall and winter. It is so cozy and a great basic to throw on to dress up or down. It would be cute with a leather or satin skirt but also with jeans or leggings. Comes in 7 colors. Side note – if you don’t like the tiny metal brand tag on the bottom corner of the front it can easily be removed with manicure scissors without harming the sweater. Often on sale but regular price is $59.
9. Hydrating Skincare –
As the temperature changes, even with oily skin, I tend to need some more moisture on my skin. I love this hydrating serum from Drunk Elephant and use it year-round. You can apply before your moisturizer or mix it in with it. I have heard this hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary is very similar but I haven’t tried it yet. I also like this rubber face mask from Dr. Jart+. It leaves my skin feeling extra hydrated and like I got a mini facial at home. I like it more than sheet masks because it stays put as I do things around the house.
10. Smokey Harvest Apple Cider Margarita –
A fall themed margarita?! Say no more! This mezcal cocktail by Half Baked Harvest is fun way to embrace the season. I am honestly not a big mezcal fan, but really enjoyed this cocktail. You can easily adjust the recipe to be less or more smokey with the amount of mezcal or just by using silver tequila. In the same idea, the sweetness with the maple syrup can be changed too. If you have never tried any of her recipes she has some of the best I have used; this drink is no different. Cheers!
