Hi there, how are you? This month has been extremely difficult with the sudden passing of my dad, but I still have some favorite finds for the month that I wanted to share. I enjoy being able to share with you and it brings me joy. I’m also feeling more hopeful as more and more people are able to get vaccinated and our country continues to open up.
I am also finding during this time that I can hold space for the sad, overwhelmed feelings, but also the happy, hopeful ones too. It’s okay to be both.
Alright, now for what you came for, February’s Top 10 Favorite Finds –
1. Fresh Sends –
Beyond grateful to have received many gorgeous flower deliveries the past few weeks. I will highlight a few in the coming months that ship country-wide, as they could be perfect for many occasions. Fresh Sends is one that is new to me and stole my heart with their stunning flowers, a sweet personalized card and on-point packaging. Their style is modern, treny and they think of very detail.
2. Gratitude Journaling –
I admittedly fell off towards the end of the month, but nevertheless know I will get back into it because I do really love this practice. It can help make you happier, improve your immune system, help you sleep better, increase your positivity and more. Here are a few places I’ve found some cute notebooks to start your writing in – ban.do, Kate Spade and Papier. Check out this post for my favorite pens.
3. Costco Chicken Pot Pie –
This is a seasonal item that is made in-house that I knew nothing about until this February. A gift from a neighbor during our family’s tough time, I was thoroughly impressed with how good it was. I would have never considered buying a pot pie until now. Pro Tip – if you won’t eat it all at one time (it’s pretty big, think Costco pumpkin pie size) I would suggest freezing it for a short period, maybe 20-30 minutes. Then, you can cut it into pieces to freeze individually to save for later. Freezing for a little a first will prevent the pie from spilling everywhere while cutting.
4. Puff Sleeve, Square Neck, Smocked Waist Top –
The perfect spring top from Target’s Wild Fable line. Trendy, comfortable, light enough but also long sleeve so it’s perfect for the in-between weather. It’s also only $20!
5. Braided Strap Heels –
Another Target find! Braided straps are a huge trend right now and this pair from Target is great way to get in on the trend without spending a ton of money. I love these specific sandals too because the heel is low and they are comfortable. They come in two colors!
6. Clear Stackable Organizer Drawers –
Organizing beauty supplies can be overwhelming. If you are like me you have things you use in your room, in the bathroom, just for travel, daily, just at night, and so on. Figuring out what goes where and with what is tough, but these drawers from Amazon not only made it easier, they look good too! I also bought these drawers from Amazon.
7. Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate –
This book gave me Where the Crawdads Sing imaginary vibes with a heartbreaking historical fiction story. It came to me highly recommended and I can see why. Add it to your list for those spring shower days or the sunshine-filled ones if you’re like me and listen on Audible.
8. Lululemon Long Sleeve –
Perfect for chilly mornings or evenings, I have been wearing this as an extra layer a lot this month. I wear it over a tank top/bra top and under a jacket and it adds a good amount of warmth.
9. Name Brand Dress fron TJMaxx.com –
There have been so many cute dresses online at TJMaxx from mid to high-end brands, like Free People, Cleobella, Vince, Haven, Good American, Alice + Olivia, Milly, and more. I will note the site doesn’t do a lot of these dresses justice in their photos. Sometimes I will find the dress from the actual retailer to get a better idea of the color/fit. This is also a way to compare prices which is always shocking because they are such good deals. Also, you can return it to your local store if it doesn’t fit. These are a few favorites – pastel blue perfect for wedding, white denim, oversized beach cover-up mini, beautiful blue floral, and this light pink slip dress for $80 instead of $295!
10. Quote of the Month –
“One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through & it will be someone else’s survivial guide.”
brene brown
I have always loved this quote. It makes me feel hopeful and strong. It makes me reflect and continue to push through. This quote has never hit home for me more than now. Save it for a rainy day.
